Sunzu Yacu Community Center
Rwanda, Africa

The Sunzu Yacu Community Center project is a multi-purpose building designed to provide a place for children and women to meet and learn in an effort to promote education in one of the poorest regions of Rwanda. The building was designed with sustainability in mind and is passively cooled and lit, collects rainwater, and is made from local materials. The project even employed local artisans and contractors, so all money was invested back into the community. Envisioned by Dan Klinck, this project was designed pro-bono and constructed through a series of fundraising efforts.
Designed as Lead Designer of Journeyman International's RED Studio, and Architect of ConsciousBuild.
